Thus major European countries such as Germany and the UK and North American countries are aggressively

pursuing the "Just Transition". The Korean government established the ‘Climate Response Fund’ to secure
financial resources to implement stable carbon-neutral policies and reorganize the industrial restructuring. The
Climate Response Fund is a measure to support carbon-neutral financially and about 300 billion won was
increased for the projects such as energy conversion support and carbon reduction technology development at

the National Assembly in 2021. The reason why the Korean government came up with a plan to realize carbon
neutrality by 2050, the carbon-neutral is a new paradigm in the world. And the EU and US are pursuing a carbon
border tax on products from countries with insufficient greenhouse gas emission regulations. If we miss this
making this mainstream, the carbon-intensive domestic industries will be directly affected, for example exports,

financing and company credit ratings. Thus it is important, each company shall pursue carbon emission reduction
activities in advance.

Last is the diplomatic policy between Korea and the EU. Korea and

the EU are taking the lead in pursuing Korea's Green New Deal and
EU's European Green Deal to realize the carbon neutrality by 2050
and the two sides discussed how to expand bilateral cooperation
to promote green transition in the world. In the energy transition

discussion, the two sides agreed to share renewable energy and hydrogen policies to realize a low-carbon
economy and to reinforce the efforts to find opportunities for cooperation. The EU side argued that cooperation
between Korea and the EU should be strengthened and mentioned the importance of reducing coal usage. Korea
and the EU have decided to hold the 5th meeting next year and it will be hosted by the EU. The two sides will

continue this working group meeting to strengthen bilateral policy cooperation related to energy, environment, and
climate change response, and continuously communicate to lead cooperation with other countries such as the G7,
G20, and the United Nations. A few days ago, you could read the news about the
incident in Italy. It happened in the northern Italian Alps, at least seven people have

been killed after being caught in an avalanche sparked by the collapse of a glacier.
Now we may experience climate change next to us, thus we have to take the right
actions right now: separate & discharge recyclables as much as possible and use air
conditioners within proper temperature range in our daily life.
