membership, and female management membership. This
is the 10th consecutive year, and it will be a task that must
be solved by the Republic of Korea, which has become an
advanced country.
However, the name of the phenomenon is the glass ceiling
because it is a social phenomenon that can’t be guaranteed
academically. David cotter defined four conditions that
must be met to conclude that glass ceilings exist.
"A gender or local difference that is not expanded by other job-relevant characteristics of the employee."
"A gender or racial difference that is greater at higher levels of an outcome than at lower levels of an outcome."
"A gender or local inequality in the changes of advance into high levels, not considering the levels of each gender
or race currently at that high levels."
"A gender or racial inequality that increases throughout a career."
Given these four conditions, the existence of glass ceilings is significantly lower. However, gender discrimination
is becoming a serious problem in modern society, so it is necessary for global organizations to eradicate
discrimination against women, regardless of the existence of the glass ceiling.
