Do you know what Juvenile Law is?
The Juvenile Law is a law that grants special status to boys who are in an antisocial environment with the aim of
correcting them rather than punishing them.
The Juvenile Law also refers to a special law under the Criminal Procedure Law that includes the content of
where, how, and where juvenile offenders are tried according to their age.
The juvenile law is for those under the age of 19, and the
punishment standards vary depending on the age. Because
juvenile offenders under the age of 10 are not aware of the crime
and are not capable of committing it, criminal punishment or
protective measures are not available for any crime.
This means that juvenile offenders aged 10 or older to under
14 years of age are touching the chokbeop as chokbeop boys.
Juveniles can be placed on probation because teenagers are
judged to be old enough to recognize crimes. However, criminal punishment cannot be carried out through
investigation, prosecution, and trial procedures like adults. Juvenile offenders aged 14 to 19 are classified as
juvenile offenders and can be subject to both being placed on probation and criminal punishment.
