Language High School at 262,
Wonjeok-ro, Bupyeong-gu,
Incheon Metropolitan City held
the 愛 Fiesta Championship that
was composed of soccer, tug of
war, dodge ball and basketball
games. Each department’s
cheering squad showed active
support and cheerful dance.
The finale was a festival of
awards that gave a banner
to the department student
representative of the winning
team. All students showed teamwork, or cheered and encouraged their teams which led to some
fairly contested matches. Last year, China took the badge, but the Spanish department took the glory
this year. Though China won overwhelmingly last year, this year’s games were more interesting and
exciting.
Somebody Stop the Armada! : Satisfi ed Spaniards Successively Snatched
Scores and Surprised Spectators
The fi nal whistle blows from the podium, and, at the same time, an avalanche of yellow supporters
ran out to greet the victors. Red in the face and dripping with sweat, the crimson-uniformed players
march triumphantly back to the grateful shade of the seats. Worn out but satisfi ed, the Armada checks
their fi nal score - three to one. What had been a depressing fi rst half of the match for the Spaniards,
with the Chinese department leading one to nil, turned from a nightmare into a miracle as the Armada
struck with a renewed force, scoring three consecutive goals in the second half of the match. Both
