On the second day of the Sports competition, the Chinese department went against the Japanese
department. The Japanese department had their biggest star Yaeseong Moon, who performed
to absolute perfection in last year’s Sports Day. Once again, he pulled off a brilliant performance
leading his team to victory. This meant that the department of Japanese had pulled off another win
in basketball as they did in the previous year.
The Soccer Tournament
Soccer, being a worldwide sport beloved by many fans across the world, is by far one of the most
popular and well renowned tournament events of Sports Day at IFLHS. Soccer, as many of you would
know, is a sport that is played by 11 vs 11 players, each team competing to score goals. Especially
here at IFLHS, the thrill the audience got from the game was like none other. Shots cutting it close,
defenders blocking and tackling the opposing team’s attackers, and last-minute goals were just
some of the stunning teamplay that we saw in the soccer game that took place on Sports Day. At this
point, many of you would be curious about the results so I'll move onto that. In the preliminary game
that led up to the final match, the English Japanese department managed to make it through, and
finally, on Sports day, after an impressive match, the English Spanish department reigned victorious
over the English Japanese department with a score of 4-1. Now, 3 out of those 4 goals were made
by an outstanding player, the MVP of Sports Day, Han Chang Hee. Although the victory looked more
like a one-man show, after interviewing the MVP, it turns out to be more of a team achievement, an
outstanding display of teamwork at its finest. Let's dive deeper into the interview to get a really clear
image of the background of the victory.
Interviewing Han Chang Hee (MVP): The Significance of Teamwork
Han Chang Hee, a student from class 2-7 in the English Spanish department was positioned
as striker of the English Spanish department soccer team in the 2024 soccer competition. In
2024, he was the MVP player for soccer, scoring a hat trick on his last match, leading his team
to victory. Let's hear what he has to say about this.
Q. What was the secret behind the victory?
Well, for a start, everyone presented a talented skillset, so we practiced and played
with confidence. For me, teamwork is the most quintessential factor of winning,
and this was achievable thanks to the help of the seniors. They approached us
with kindness, helped guide our team’s direction and created a friendly and close
atmosphere.
