The assault happened less than two blocks from the SFPD Tenderloin substation, and within minutes

The government must prepare some ways to solve this problem and protect them. We set up some products
such as a guard that separates the front and back seats, devices which is possible to deploy in a crisis. For
example, the government introduced the ‘emergency lights’ solution that was made 15 years ago. Emergency
lights are used to ask for help from other people in a dangerous situation by using a light that turns red. But it
is unknown to people because it hasn’t been well promoted; people have barely seen these lights on the road.
So, it was spread like a strange story. Moreover, there was one study that conducted a simulation exercise by
turning on emergency lights 9 years ago, but citizens don’t notice it at all. Also, we have already enforced
a way. That is to set up a black box. After setting up this, the number of thieves decreased even more than
before. And Seoul will start to make a protective policy for taxi drivers. First, when a taxi driver was assaulted,
they can call to police rapidly through a simple operation. If taxi drivers push a button, they automatically
report it to the police. Second, they make some guards protect the taxi driver. Although recently some people
complained as they were uncomfortable to pay and see. Third, the government in Seoul added a siren that
includes an emergency light before being made. Otherwise, they educate the taxi drivers how to prevent assault
by passengers.
