K-pop is achieving unrivaled success on the global stage by converging various language and
cultural senses centered on the originality of Korean. K-pop's core strategy is not just to
change the language of the song, but to form emotional and cultural bonds with fans
through language.
K-pop is captivating fans around the world by releasing songs in various languages, including Korean,
English, Japanese, Chinese, and Spanish. This is not just a strategy to expand fandom. The melody and
emotion of music are conveyed across languages, and fans sympathize with the messages in the music
even if they do not understand the lyrics. For example, BTS's song "Dynamite" was released in English and
topped the Billboard charts, sending positive and hopeful messages to global fans. At the same time, the
Korean song "Life Goes On" shared deep emotions with fans, proving the emotion of linguistic diversity.
