What is the secret of the success of the show Squid Game?? These days, Squid Game is
picking up a sensational popularity in the world. It can be said that it is the golden age of Korean
content, such as the movie Parasite, actress Yoon Yeo-jeong and BTS. Netflix introduced Squid Game and
served it in 83 countries and it was the most watched show in these countries. Most notably, it ranked first in

India, the country of Bollywood. The book Squid Game and Content Revolution introduced the narrow
scope which is viewed from seven authors as well as the broad scope of politics, economy, diplomacy,
culture, and society. The authors from various walks of life in Korea explain how Squid Game

succeeds as follows. It is the creativity, story composition, game and set composition, costume
and set design, filming, music, editing, marketing distribution and etc. Also director Hwang
Dong-hyuk said that it is based on the dynamics of Korean society. And authors predict that
the K-contents industry will be reorganized to
focus on the global market and suggest to increase the capital capacity of investment

               in Korea.

The world leading media speak very highly of Squid Game. "Squid Game

dealt with class conflicts in modern society and the people all over the world
sympathize with it." (British public broadcaster, BBC) "It is a powerful and clever work. We can look into the
abyss of human beings." (German public broadcaster, Deutsche Wele) and etc. And the author Yang Hee-yang
of Power Contents Formula explains 2 reasons why Squid Game succeeded.

The first, is "empathy". It reflects the global phenomenon of polarization of wealth and the harsh reality of the
underprivileged people who are in crisis of survival, thus it aroused sympathy from people around the world.
