Respondant: Chae Won Kim, Yonsei UD 21, graduated IFLHS department of English-Japanese.

Q. What you want to major in Department of English Language and Literature?

A. I liked English in the high school and the best among several subjects, but I couldn't decide which is
my best choice between English and Chinese to study in university. When I was in the graduating
class, my English teacher and I studied English literature together and then I decided to study
English in the future.

Q. What is your different life between high school and university?

A. During high school, I stayed in a dormitory, thus when I waked up in the morning in the dormitory
and went to school and then was back to the dormitory to sleep. And I had very limited time to live
at home, thus had lots of the memory with my roommates. By comparing my life in high school, I
can enjoy everything except for study and the classes are more specific than that of high school.

Q. I also want to study something related with language in future, thus I would like to ask what should I

learn more specifically, if I want to go to the department of English language and literature at Yonsei
University?

A. As a freshman, I simply learned what language
is and what literature is by taking humanities and
English humanities. After that, I can take any classes
which I want. For example, there are classes about

Shakespeare and seminars as well as Harry Potter, so
I can participate any classes that I want. In the case of
linguistics, I studied grammar. If I want to study the

verb form, I can take a class related to that.

Q. How about the festival in the university and the
competition game against Korea university?

A. I didn't have any idea, because my freshman was

the pandemic era. But it was really nice in this year,

because we were together.
