Yonsei-KU rivalry, and the Akaraka in real life. The most challenging thing was the difference
between high school and university. Because I was a newcomer, I was not able to get information
about anything, even the things I should finish. I assume every newcomer would feel the same.
Q. Then, what was the biggest dissimilarity between University (and high school)?
A. It is that all actions are self-selected. In high school, teachers create groups and make students do
their work. In Univ, it all comes differently. All selection-for examples, relationships, and study-are
freely chosen. However, students have to be responsible for their actions.

graduated IFLHS department of English-Chinese
Q. Please Introduce the international department,
UIC.
A. Within the UIC, it has three divisions: UD,
HASSD, and ISED. UD and HASSD are
humanities and social science division and ISED
is science and engineering division. I belong to
UD.
Q. What is the advantage of UD?
A. The advantage is that students in UD can freely choose various majors like ECON, PSIR, IS,
CIC. Also, like UIC first, there is an advantage of having an UIC system such as an international
university priority registration system.
Q. Why did you go to the UD?
A. I liked that I could choose my major freely. In particular, I thought it would be a good opportunity
to expand the field of interest because I could choose not only my major within UD but also more
majors in HASS. Also, I went to UD to improve my English skills.
Q. What are the competencies required by UD?
A. Since all classes are conducted in English, it is necessary to be able to communicate and write essays
in English. However, there are cases where English improves while taking classes.
