                    divisions of UIC.

Interviewer: Dong Hoon Han, IFLHS 21

Respondent: Jae Chan Park, Yonsei UD 22, graduated IFLHS department of English-Japanese.
                    Q. What is a particular feature of UIC?

                    A. All activities, from lectures to the dormitory, are done in English. Unlike other department
dormitories, almost every dorm teacher is foreign or has studied abroad. So the use of English

becomes as much as the use of Korean.
                    Q. What are the best school facilities at Yonsei Univ?

                    A. Underwood Memorial Library. When I was a kid, I came here on a campus tour. Going through
every building of Yonsei University, this library game me the best impression. With an elegant look,
this place is one of the R&R areas.

                    Q. What kind of lectures do students learn?
                    A. In the first year, we study CC (Common curriculum). Before we specialize, we write English

conference essays and are trained in a secondary foreign language and fundamental disciplines.
                    Q. Which kind of major do students select?

                    A. Normally, as this order: ECON (Economics), IS (International Studies), PSIR (Political Science

and International Relations), and CLC (Comparative Literature and Culture). The majority major in
ECON or IS, so relatively a few specialize in PSIR and CLC.

                    Q. Then, what major do you want to study?

                    A. I think ECON is currently my selection.
                    Q. Is there a trigger for you to apply the UIC?

                    A. When I was in middle school, I participated in the exercise of discourse with UIC students using

only English. I talked with mentors about UIC. As I mentioned earlier, I went on the campus tour at
that time. It made me apply to UIC.

                    Q. What was the funniest and most challenging thing you have gone through?

                    A. As Yonsei UD 22 is the first to make offline lectures after COVID-19, it was fun to fully have MT,
