Environmentally-friendly Buildings?

- One step toward Sustainable Development -

Nowadays with rapid technological development, our lives are getting more and more comfortable. But
it's a double-edged sword; a lot of rain forests are disappearing, and the earth is suffering due to envi-
ronmental contamination. In this situation, of course, we all might think that we should really work on
sustainable development; a development that meets the needs of the present without compromising the
ability of future generations to meet their own needs. As we are not familiar with the real examples of it,

here are three environment-friendly towns around us which are contributing hugely on slowing global
warming.

1. Solar energy town in Sinhyocheon, Gwangju, Republic of Korea

In this town, 64 households have installed solar system machines. Since they started this project in De-
cember 2004, they are saving about forty-million Korean won in energy usage.

2. Beddington Zero Energy Development, United Kingdom
This town has a lot of vents which look exactly like rooster combs that make the cold air outside mix with
