also has special roofs on buildings that save rain
water to use it for toilet or gardening after a purifying
process. People in this town are provided with one
parking place for one car per household to reduce

carbon dioxide emissions.

3. Chattanooga, United States
30 years ago, this green city was the center of man-
ufacturing, so was famous for its bad atmosphere. At
that time, the number of people with lung cancer was
three times higher than the normal rate in American.

How could this city change their whole environment?
First, Chattanooga required all the factories get gas
filtering equipment. Second, the city made a rule
named "Park and Ride" which is to make people not
use their cars and use trains. Third, they started an
electronic city shuttle bus program to not only reduce
the number of people using cars but also to reduce
the traffic problem. With these huge efforts, the city
could be revived with clean air and sky.

Recently, we tend to give up on saving the environ-
ment thinking like 'there is no change if one takes ac-
tions for nature.' But the examples above show that
the cooperation of each person made a big change
in the environment. Even if the earth is suffering a lot
to the point where we cannot recover completely, we

surely can help the earth to slow down the global
warming.
