Can expertise protect jobs from AI?

A painting AI called ‘NovelAI’ appeared about six months ago. The AI paints pictures from a few keywords. It
surprised people because we think painting is the symbol of creativity. But that doesn’t mean we expect the
art industry would collapse to a painting AI because AI still had problems with finding proper images, doing
deep learning, illustrating hands or objects and having consistent style.

But it became old information in three months. The AI generated images overcame those problems and
even conquered realistic pictures and painting such as this picture. In addition, animation, motion graphics
AI have developed. Finally, Chat GPT, which can solve law and medical exam questions, came out.

But honestly, we still don’t think our job would
disappear and be replaced by AI. Instead, most people
even don’t have an interest in AI generated paintings
and also Chat GPT is convenient but also the response
is awkward especially in the Korean version. So,
people think these AIs can’t replace our jobs. Some
people argue that claiming professions will be replaced
because only some AI won a few competitions is
overinterpretation.

But there are experts claiming this is déjà vu. Not
only Geoffrey Hinton or Elon Musk who directly warning, but also about 350 CEOs including Open AI and
programmers signed a declaration which says we have to delay
AI development on May 30th.

Looking this picture, we can recognize erasers. AI can calculate
123123 × 123141, but can’t recognize whether they are
erasers or crowd of animals. This is the limit of AI learning
algorithms. Art experts guaranteed AI can’t draw a picture
because it is the symbol of intuition, creativity, emotions, and
manual skills.

But AI overcame the limits of the algorithm by the same
algorithm. Deep learning is learning countless information in
a short time. This is also the way that drawing AI overcame
the problems above. The AI learns a tremendous number of
possibilities of each degree of finger bending and each viewing
angle.
