Artificial Intelligence Coding

In Artificial Intelligence era, math and coding are

essential.

- First grade students in Incheon Foreign Language High School

learn artificial Intelligence (AI) coding upon admission.

At Incheon Foreign Language High
School on March 8, 2023, ‘Machine
Learning experience through AI
block coding education contents’
was introduced as a key program.
This program is one of the axis of a
CORE (Coding, Reading, Eco-friendly)
education. Incheon Foreign Language
High School plans to produce students
who have coding skills and foreign
language skills, and plans to focus on fostering talented students so that they can lead our
future as the main characters of the digital era.

-A book “Reading Mathematics”

In the book “Reading Mathematics”, author professor Nam Ho-sung talks about the
education method in AI era as the first research group that create AI-based solutions. He
argues that we should learn math and coding. Mathematics is an essential subject in any
field, so coding should also be based on mathematics first. He repeatedly stresses that we
need convergent talented humans. He showed an example about Artificial Intelligence. The
most basic principle of it is understanding words. Then the question arises: how to solve the
language problem? How many things will fit in this? Brain science, medical science, robotics,
etc. This is telling us that this is math again. Calculus and linear algebra are said to be the
keys. When humans talk, wind blows out of their vocal chords, so they should understand
both acoustic physics and natural science where air moves. And also, we can’t subtract
Robot Cognitive Psychology because you need to understand human words. To implement
this, we also need computation. All of these come together and become one big study. If
each expert gathers and talks, will the conversation work? He said, “No, it’s not possible if
only one person does well.”
