The importance of English in modern society

Why is English important?

For the beginning

English is the language that most people use in
the world. For people who work for a company, no
matter what type of occupation it is, using English
allows them more opportunities than not using it.
Because the world is becoming more globalized,
English is also becoming more important. In this
article I will state some specific reasons about why
English is important in society.

Necessary in the company

Imagine you are the CEO of a company. If you have
two options, what will you choose? Managing a
company only domestically? Or considering other
countries and run your company as a worldwide
business? Didn’t you choose the second option? I
can make a book on my opinion. Most companies
pursue global ambitions for which English is
necessary. As an example, in 2008, Chanel, a
French company educated their executives to
achieve success in America. According to the EPI
(English Proficiency Index) statistics, people in their
mid-20s and 30s, rated high in English skills. Most
of the people in mid-20s and 30s are spending
almost half of their time in the company. This
means high EPI rate in mid-20s and 30s, states that
English is necessary in the company.
