Department of Chinese Language and Literature
The Department of Chinese Language and Literature at Korea University provides an academic
environment for a deep understanding and study of Chinese language and culture. This
department aims to revitalize the growing exchanges with China, contribute to the development of
related fields, and cultivate the necessary human resources. For this, we are not only maximizing
student's Chinese proficiency, but also opening curriculums in areas such as Chinese linguistics,
Chinese classical literature, Chinese modern literature, and
Chinese literature to enhance understanding and ability in
various fields. Through these diverse educational and research
environments, the Department of Chinese Language and
Literature at Korea University provides students with deep
knowledge and insight into Chinese language and culture to
prepare them to active in various fields in the future.

Q. What made you apply for the Department of Chinese Literature?
A. I learned Chinese since I was young and naturally wanted to learn more about Chinese, so I
entered Incheon Foreign Language High School. As I took a lot of Chinese classes at school
and did various in-depth activities, I realized that Chinese was suitable for my aptitude, and I
decided to go to college for Chinese and Chinese literature.
Q. If I go to the Department of Chinese Language and Literature, what are some jobs related to
that department?
A. Related professions and entry fields include diplomats, embassies, trading companies, travel
agencies, and publishers, and many others. Also, you can advance into various other branches.
Q. What was the hardest part or the part that you worked hard on to prepare to go to the
Department of Chinese Literature?
A. spent a lot of time studying Chinese because I thought I should get good grades in Chinese

to show my passion for it. Compared to other subjects, the major language was more intense
because the total number of students was small. I did my best in assignments, tests, midterm
exams, and final exams to get good grades, and I
think this was a little difficult.
Q. Do you have any lessons that remain in your mind
or have you realized in the process of preparing
to go to the university of your choice? What is it?
